BRIEF

Design a footwear concept for Reebok based on trend forecasts for A/W 2021/2022.

INSPIRATION

In A/W 2021-2022 we imagine a retreat from the world into the woods, and the backcountry of our minds. We’re tuning in, dropping out and searching for ourselves in excellent technical footwear.

Muted tones communicate forest flora and natural features. Lichens, moss, forest fog and fields inspire a pacific attitude and relief from dystopian megastructures and virtual overstimulation, while responsible synthetics give us the performance we need to make our quiet egress back into nature.

USER PROFILE

Individuals seeking to reconnect with nature and the desire to explore unfamiliar terrain. Appreciates a versatile shoe that embraces the outdoor aesthetic - neutral/organic colour combinations and performance materials, that can suite both urban and outdoor pursuits.

Values functional, responsible material usage.

IDEATION

CONCEPT

The bulbous tongue evokes the feeling of protection, assured through comfort and the functionality of a secure pocket during a hike.

Internal lacing allows for easy donning and doffing, providing an extra layer of protection against wet environments, while the shockcord facilitates custom temperature adjustments, allowing the wearer to release for ventilation and cinch to maintain warmth.

Deep channels within the sole create space for puddled water, allowing a trek through snow and slush a breeze, as we egress back into nature.
